Phonosurgery - Voice Surgery

Phonosurgery consists on different surgical techniques used to improve the voice correcting anatomical alterations that might affect it.

Phonosurgery is performed in cases of organic lesion. By various larynx microsurgery techniques the different anomalies on the vocal cords: nodules, polyps, cists, contact ulcers and, in certain cases of recurrent vocal cord paralyses, certain materials are injected: apoplastic materials (Teflon, silicon) and biologic materials (collagen, fat).

Phonosurgery can be performed through endolarynx microsurgery (using a microscope), both using specific instrumentation (microforceps, scisors, vacuums) or CO2 laser using micromanipulators that can be attached to the microscope.
