Implant replacement

Implant replacement is indicated in patients who had breast augmentation with implants over 15 years ago which show signs of wear and tear due to capsular contracture, are deformed or have ruptured or show signs of extravasated silicone gel.

The intervention consists of removing the old implants and inserting new ones. This procedure is often carried out in conjunction with periprosthetic capsulectomy since, in most cases, the implants show signs of contracture. In cases of breast ptosis (drooping), mastopexy (breast lift) is recommended to gather in the skin and improve breast shape and height.

Following replacement, the patient will once again have the natural appearance that aesthetically enhances her bust.

Postoperative care

After the intervention, Dr Torres will instruct the patient on the care required according to which techniques were performed.
