Knee pain: could it be the meniscus?

Knee pain can be caused by a variety of reasons, and meniscus problems are one of the possible causes. The menisci are two C-shaped cartilages located on the inside of the knee joint, and their function is to help stabilize the joint and distribute the weight load evenly. Injuries or problems to the meniscus can result in knee pain. However, knee pain can also be caused by other conditions, such as osteoarthritis, arthritis, ligament injuries, bursitis, tendonitis, among others.
