Holding a doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona, and specializing in Medical and Surgical Dermatology, Dr. Joan Ramon Garcés (Balaguer, 1958) is particularly devoted to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.

Throughout his career he has performed more than 1,400 Mohs operations, a surgical procedure for removing cutaneous tumors which provides a higher rate of cure than traditional methods.

Integrated in the multidisciplinary skin cancer unity, Dr. Garcés has belonged to Centro Médico Teknon Medical Team since its foundation, a position he holds together with his post as clinical head of the Dermatology Service at the Hospital de Sant Pau, where he is head of Cutaneous Oncology Surgery, Photodynamic therapy and the Mohs Surgery Unit.

He is a member of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ISDS), the European Society of Mohs Micrographic Surgery (ESMS) and the Academia Española de Dermatología y Venereología (AEDV – Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology), among others.
