The Unit is dedicated to the comprehensive assessment of individuals with cognitive complaints or cognitive impairment, regardless of their origin. Our team of internationally renowned professionals in the field will conduct a neurological medical examination and comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and give you the best advice in terms of diagnosis and treatment.
PROGRAMMES
- Alzheimer screening programme: includes a neurological examination, neuropsychological assessment, and brain MRI scan. The study of Alzheimer markers in biological fluids is currently being incorporated.
- Programme for the detection of cognitive disorders in neurological or systemic diseases: This programme focuses on detecting and treating cognitive disorders that can occur in various diseases, such as cerebrovascular disease, systemic diseases, or non-Alzheimer dementias. It entails a neurological examination, neuropsychological assessment, brain MRI scan, and a further array of specific tests depending on the causes.
- NeuroCOVID Programme. Infection with the SARS Cov2 virus can cause various neurological symptoms, such as loss of smell or memory complaints. The unit provides a comprehensive assessment including medical evaluation, neuropsychological assessment, brain MRI, and symptom-specific tests to determine possible neurological sequelae and advise on possible treatment.
- Chronic hydrocephalus in adults. Diagnostic studies and selection of surgical candidates for CSF ventricular shunting, including neuropsychological, neurological and neurosurgical evaluation, gait analysis, MRI studies with CSF dynamics, invasive studies of CSF dynamics and ICP (intracranial pressure), surgical treatment and post-operative monitoring.
