COVIDCOVID

COVID-19 Unit

Within the Pulmonology Unit, we have a unit specialising in the management of patients affected by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), whose purpose is to guarantee treatment and management until discharge due to recovery for all patients affected by COVID-19.

With the aim of providing continuity of care for patients affected by this disease, a Diagnostic and Follow-up Clinic has been established.

This unit handles:

  1. Pacientes dados de Alta de Hospitalización
  2. Emergency patients who did not require admission
  3. Patients referred for a pre-anaesthetic consultation prior to any surgical procedure
  4. Patients requesting appointments directly from our Pulmonology Department

As a general rule, all patients will first have a telephone consultation.

At the time of the in-person visit, consultations will be organised in shifts with ample time between them. The allocation of appointments will enable patient care and the subsequent cleaning and disinfection of frequently used areas.

Using a multidisciplinary approach, the following will be planned for the day of the in-person visit: clinical assessment by the Pulmonology Unit at Centro Médico Teknon, pulmonary anatomical assessment by chest tomography, specific analysis of haematological-biochemical markers of establishment as markers in the study of COVID-19 patients, and determination of immune status with respect to the disease. The patient will also be evaluated at the Teknon Cardiology Institute, where the relevant specialist tests will be carried out. Likewise, with any other speciality involved in the examining and monitoring the patient.
