Skull base pathology can be highly complex and often requires collaboration between different surgical specialists: Ear, nose and throat specialists, maxillofacial surgeons and/or plastic surgeons. Endoscopy has led to less invasive approaches and continuous monitoring of the function of neurological anatomical elements found in or around the surgical field, resulting in greater patient safety.
