Facilities
Our facilities and structure enable us to offer high-quality specialised medical care.
The Teknon Oncology Institute delivers high-quality specialised medical care attributable a structure comprising:
- A central patient care area for coordinating all the diagnostic and therapeutic activities required for each case.
- A medical consultation area, where patients are seen and monitored.
- Our Continuous Care Unit (CCU), where any patient or family member requiring immediate attention from the medical team and/or nursing staff is treated. The unit is staffed by the nursing team both in person and by telephone. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The Radiotherapy Centre, which has state-of-the-art technology in Radiation Oncology.
- The Oncology Day Hospital consists of individual modules where all outpatient treatments required by patients at the Teknon Oncology Institute are carried out (chemotherapy, blood component transfusions and other supportive treatments).
- The oncology pharmacy service, dedicated exclusively to the preparation of cytostatic drugs.
- The Centro Médico Teknon campus departments make available a suite of oncology services, including: Diagnostic Imaging (CT, MRI), Nuclear Medicine, PET Scans, Anatomical pathology, Laboratory analysis, Emergency Services, Nutrition and Pain Therapy.
- Oncology Day Hospital
The Oncology Day Hospital is a central service of Centro Médico Teknon, part of the Teknon Oncology Institute. It comprises a team of specialist doctors and nursing staff specially trained in the field of chemotherapy and outpatient treatment for oncology patients.
The Day Hospital is located next to the Oncology Pharmacy Service, which is dedicated exclusively to preparing cytostatic drugs for chemotherapy treatment and supporting the needs of the Unit.
Technical characteristics of the Oncology Day Hospital:
- 10 individual modules for chemotherapy treatments and other support techniques
- Oncology pharmacy specially used for the preparation of cytostatic drugs
- Nursing staff specialised in the preparation and administration of chemotherapy, as well as in the care required by patients during the course of their cancer treatment.
- Proprietary blood extraction unit with immediate results prior to chemotherapy treatment
- Learning areas available to cancer patients on the effects of treatment and possible support strategies
